400 fitness enthusiasts, End Polio and Fight Cancer advocates beat the heat today at the PH Run 2023 event in Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex, Pasay City!
The event was a collaboration of Rotary International District 3810 and PH Cares-Pamayanang Handa, Community Advocates for Resiliency, Empowerment, and Services Inc.; and is a fund-raising fun run for the benefit of the RID 3810 End Polio Campaign and Cancer patients in selected Metro Manila Hospitals.
Joined even by the kids and seniors in age, runners for 3k, 5k, and 10k started at 5:30 in the morning and was finished by 8:45.
“It was amazing to see so many runners this morning led by the Rotary International District 3810, a first for the district after the global pandemic.
We thank our District Governor Joyce Michelle Socorro Ambray for her unconditional support by rallying our fellow Rotarians and classmates to join in.
We have Rotarian runners who came all the way from Cavite and Mindoro, Pasay and Manila.
I hope we have achieved our objective of today’s run: make positive impact on health and wellbeing by getting active daily and contribute to our End Polio Campaign and Cancer Patients.
Thank you to everyone who joined today and also to those who brought their whole family with them to make this Sunday Fun Run their bonding time as well. Of course, the event will not be a success without the support of the Pasay City Mayor, Emi Calixto-Rubiano and the fire volunteers and medic who also made time for us,” RC Pasay Cyber City PLP and PH Cares headed by Chairman Jun Pasion.
The runners and audiences along the PICC area were also treated to a live performance from Mr. Jimmy Bondoc and The Phoenix Band.
