My dear fellow Manila Rotarians,
From last weekend until early this week, I had the privilege of attending the prestigious Rotary International Convention held in Melbourne, Australia from May 27 to 31, 2023. This convention, a global gathering of Rotarians from around the world, provided a platform for networking, learning, and fostering international goodwill. It was an extraordinary opportunity to represent our esteemed club on an international stage.
Accompanying me to this momentous event were esteemed individuals from our district and club, including District Governor Joyce Ambray, PE/Dir. Raffy Alunan, PDG Rudy and Lady Sharon Bediones, PDG Alex Cureg, PD Nick Locsin, BLA Raoul Creencia, and AT PJ Garcia. Together, we formed a strong delegation, and District 3810 was the biggest from Zone 10A.

I am proud to inform you that our country earned a remarkable achievement during the convention. In terms of registration, the Philippines ranked an impressive fourth among all participating countries, demonstrating our dedication and commitment to Rotary’s noble cause. This achievement is a testament to the passion and enthusiasm displayed by Rotarians in the Philippines.

During the convention, District Governor Joyce Ambray and I were bestowed a great honor.
We appreciate this message from DRFC PDG Liza Elorde about our recognition:
“Gov. Joyce and FG Hermie being inducted in the Arch Klumph Society as Trustees Circle. Congrats too for levelling up to Level 2 Chair Circle. The first ever Rotarian in our District to do this. A feat that we can be truly proud of not only in our district but in the whole Philippines.”
It was a proud moment for our club, our country, and the entire Rotary community, reaffirming our commitment to making a positive and lasting impact on the world.

The Rotary International Convention in Melbourne was an incredible experience that showcased the unity and dedication of Rotarians from all corners of the globe. The memories and connections formed during this event will undoubtedly shape our future endeavors as the Rotary Club of Manila. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent our club and our country at this prestigious gathering.
As we move forward, let us continue to embody the spirit of Rotary by serving our community with passion and purpose. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need and inspire others to join us in our noble mission.
